Dear Toni and Laurence

Some time has gone past since I last communicated with you all. The business has virtually doubled in size. The website is working and I only receive positive feedback. I am very proud of this and you all should be as well. 100% positive response is rare. There are seven permanent people working in house or driving every day. As well there is a lot being delivered to us. The projects I am working on are enormous and are cutting edge environmental leaps.

It is time for me concentrate on changing the website on a monthly basis. As well a news letter needs to begin and news needs to be put onto the website.

Thanks to all and I hope you are all as excited as I am.

Love and Peace to all

Hi James and Toni,

Happy New Year to you both. I hope you saw it in with style, and made up for my lacklustre effort – I’m currently at a health retreat so it was carrot juice and water for me on New Years Eve!

James, thanks so much for your gorgeous introduction of Toni.

Toni – I was highly impressed with the feedback from your presentation with DRSD – well done. We’d love to invite you to be a speaker at Last Thursday Club some time in the next few months. I’ve asked Hannah and Amber who manage our speaker schedule to look into available dates, and from there they can come back with some options. It’d be awesome to welcome you to our group and I’m sure they’d benefit greatly from what you have to teach and I’m personally excited to know more too!

Keep well and thanks again for your offer to work with us.

With warmest regards and best wishes

Hi guys,

Just want to say how much I love you :) Thank you so much for working so hard to get the site up in time. It is a huge boost. You did kick-arse work.

Brilliant work based on what you had to go on your sincere devotion to helping us get there is most appreciated.

We went to see 3 films yesterday including Red Cliff last night with John Woo, John Voight, Tony Leung, Takeshi Kaneshiro, and a whole host of other hot famous people which is pretty awesome.

We know the quality of the site played a big part in us getting the meetings we have been able to line up with distributors on Wednesday and Thursday and your efforts to help get us there are greatly appreciated. As a result we have been able to make some great deals with overseas distributors who all mention the website on first meeting.

I also got a call this week to direct a new reality television series for the National Geographic channel about coastal patrol. So I find out more about that next weekend I'll keep you posted. It is all very exciting for our company right now, and our horizons are now bigger than $10 million

Toni,

There has been a jump in the number of Business Directory registrations.

In addition, Patrick See has asked to join the Chamber this afternoon. I am sure others joined this morning.

It’s good to see all your efforts coming to fruition.

Everyone I spoke to thought it was a terrific presentation and a great event.

‘Well done’ and ‘Congratulations’ seem paltry for the time, effort and energy you have put into reinvigorating the Chamber.

From someone who can see what you have done, and what you have yet to do, I do appreciate it and thank you.

Dear Toni,

Just wanted to say thank you so much for your presentation on “10 Steps to Win and keep Online Customers” !!

It was a very professional and stimulating morning and I was impressed with your content and presentation skills ,- the time just flew !!!

As a follow up we were fortunate to have a workshop with you for more specific ideas and marketing evaluation of our company. WOW !

It was spot on – you are a great listener and share your deep knowledge of marketing without lecturing on “what should be done” but rather suggesting and giving examples !! The workshop was thoroughly worth it.

We came out of the meeting thoroughly stimulated and focused on increasing our communication skills by way of our website and email news and special offers.

Very best wishes,

Dear Toni,

How are you on this fine day? I am writing to thank you sincerely for so generously sending through the template and form regarding the win promotion details. I wanted to let to know that we have finished setting up a win campaign on our website at www.margaretsplace.com.au to apply the insight and advice you provided. It would be an honour if you could have a look at our site to see how we have conducted the win campaign. Just to let you know, we have been receiving lots of entries from people who would like to win our prizes, and are now collecting sincere prospects whom are in sincere need of our services. Thank you.

There was a woman at a network that I met yesterday who is an Events Manager. Her name is Beatrix Illes and she missed your workshop--she was most disappointed. I gave a glowing review of your seminar, and just wanted to let you know that I passed on your email address to her. She is most keen to be in touch with you.

Thank you for the newsletter material that you have emailed. I have kept it on file in the event that we require your further assistance. Once again I want to wish you and your business partner continuing success in your endeavours. Let's keep in touch.

Hi

I just wanted to follow up with you as I have not heard back about the issues sending the newsletter. I have also heard from a few people asking if the newsletter had been sent as they hadn’t received it but they are on the list and they have received previous newsletters. I will need to send the next newsletter by monday next week and I don’t want to spend all my time preparing one that isn’t going to reach people.

You are also due to get back to me after our phone conversation regarding me being able to have links on the newsletter to other pages. So for example when I would like to add an article that is too long to go onto the newsletter in my old system I could just write up a separate page within the system and then link to it. Can I do that in PIE? I know we looked at linking to sections within the same newsletter but you were unsure about what I mentioned above and were going to look into it.

Can you please get back to me asap.

Hi Toni

Thanks for your message - you beat me off the mark.

Firstly, thank you for your time yesterday. I found the session extremely useful and was just the sort of information and discussion I needed 1. to see how to best integrate the website into current marketing activities but also 2. to open up many new marketing possibilities that are now available to us. I only wish I had had this session earlier on.

Let me say that by enabling clients to really grasp the practical capabilities of e-marketing, and by enabling them to put in action active e-marketing activities, Purpose really have a great value proposition to offer, above and beyond simply developing websites. Therefore I'm more than happy to pass on details of several associates who may be interested in what you have to offer.

These are all businesses that are distributing the Adept product (to some degree) and with whom I have recently discussed our new website. I'm sure if you contacted them as the company that did our website and that I had thought they may be interested ...

Thanks again for your insights - I'll now get busy putting them into action.

Hi Colleen, Joyce, Toni
Thank you all so much again for your part in making the evening such a big success. The feedback has been fantastic and everybody seemed to take away some practical tips that they felt could be implemented in their own lives and careers which was one of the main objectives of the evening. We are also going to look into what we can do to advise clients and provide solutions to address the gender cultural imbalance in organisations.

Ali sends her sincere apologies for having to dash early last night as unfortunately she has not been feeling too well over the last couple of days. She did an excellent job facilitating the questions which is even more impressive under the circumstances.

It was a pleasure spending time with you all and hearing how you have achieved the successes you have. I especially like the fact Colleen that your little neice is your "fun" mentor!

Thank you for sharing your experiences.

Purpose
Hi Toni,

I’m always happy to talk to people about you guys.

Purpose worked with First Focus over a 6 week period while we were defining our brand and writing our business plan. We’re getting a lot of comments from prospects and customers about our website, and we have achieved a pretty high rate of closure on sales. A large percentage of our new customers say they were attracted to First Focus over the hundreds of other IT companies in Sydney simply because of the look and feel of our website. Purpose were fabulous to work with, nothing was too much trouble when we asked, yet, when they felt we may have been taking the design in a direction that didn't match end user requirements they took the time to explain this and help us work through it. Toni especially played a pretty central role in defining what First Focus is by guiding the design team to create a website that we’re truly happy with.

Sincerely,

Peter Paddon

Hi Toni,
Thanks for the feedback. I think our website looks wonderful as well. I have already sent out 5000 flyers to the local areas as well as an email to the customers who were already on the database. We have had a few new additions, however it is still a little slow, but hopefully with time we will get more.
Thanks for the feedback. And thank you once again for all your support.
Purpose has been fantastic. I look forward to hearing from you soon, hopefully one day you can make a trip out to Eastern Creek and see us at the tavern!!

Hi Toni,

This is the second time I've been present when you are speaking and just like the first time years ago, I was glued to your every word. Thank you so much for your invite and the opportunity to attend.

Is it possible to get a copy of your presentation? Not so much the websites you guys created for your clientele but more so the stats i.e. the cost per answering a call, per answering an email etc. Or even the source of your facts stated. That sort of stuff will help me.

Let me know, have a wonderfully successful day and I'll talk to you soon. Once again, thank you

PROFESSIONAL CAREER - Toni Fitzgerald

1999 - Current ONLINE/INTERNET MARKETING CONSULTANT
1988 - Current RETAIL MARKETING CONSULTANT

BUSINESS SNAPSHOT
From 1988 Toni Fitzgerald, as "Shoptactics" has been a retail and shopping centre marketing consultant, a concept she established to assist clients with the image positioning, identification and marketing of retail products and retail stores. In 1999 the core business expanded to embrace consultancy for online/internet activities across sectors. Her current business offering includes:

  • developing marketing techniques and programs for metropolitan, regional and country shopping centres. And was the first to develop programs for pre-development marketing of shopping centres.
  • strategy conceptualising and development and the creation of unique CRM concepts for business to customers companies, both online and offline.
  • diversified into lifestyle and consumer products, so that the consultancy covers all companies working in the B2C area, with a particular emphasis on online, integrated and interactive media activities.

KEY ROLE: CONSULTANCY & PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Ensuring independent market analysis providing an actionable and prioritised plan
  • Devising 1, 3 and 5 year marketing plans for both shopping centres and retailers
  • Identifying and defining client's correct market position
  • Creating supportive image and branding programs
  • Helping define and reach appropriate target markets
  • Developing strategies for Customer Relationship Management
  • Designing Customer front - Company back programs
  • Devising and implementing effective, results orientated and measurable marketing programs
  • Designing corporate customer culture and ongoing loyalty building programs
  • Identification of market needs
  • Public Relations strategies and campaigns
  • Event Management
  • Traffic and sales generating promotions
  • Conducting seminars and training on 1 to 1 Marketing and Customers Relations

ACHIEVEMENTS: ONLINE/INTERACTIVE MEDIA STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT

  • Developed the new online internet image and business for the Sydney Turf Club to enable 'first mover' advantage. Identified the opportunity, researched and negotiated the beginnings of a strategic alliance with a major American company.
  • A teen magazine targeting 12-16 year old girls wanted a website that communicated with their target market on a monthly basis and without eroding the magazines paid circulation. Conceptualised, researched and developed the strategy of an electronic diary, with lock and key, password access and the ability for user design interaction. Research showed that the average girl writes 7 times a month in a diary. At the end of a month the user will have been asked 10 questions and the magazine will have a profile for e-mail marketing for both the magazine and their advertisers.
  • Developed a website marketing strategy that features a personal lifestyle health manual online for a nutritional company. It puts people in charge of their own health and enables them to build a lifetime record of everything from how much water they drink, their food and vitamins, to when they last had hay-fever. The response so far has been positive with traditional doctors acclaiming the concept.
  • Developed a website marketing strategy for a marble supply company that included the researching and writing of a 15 point report that site visitor prospects could request online and providing sales leads. Two successful sales leads followed-up result in a 100% return on investment.
  • Developed strategic alliances with three major web-design companies to formulate marketing strategies for their clients for both the website concept (Window of Opportunity) and to direct traffic.

PROFESSIONAL CAREER - Toni Fitzgerald

ACHIEVEMENTS: COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING STRATEGIES
Strategic Branding & Re-positioning
Developed the new branding image and business for the Sydney Turf Club to 'Rosehill Gardens'. Achievements include:

  • Undertook focus group research among member, patrons and non-patrons of the Club.
  • Conceived the entire re-positioning and imaging, renaming the marketing arm 'Rosehill Gardens'.
  • Used programs to change the staff culture, public and member facilities, uniforms, signage concepts, and advertising and promotional concepts and philosophies.
  • Appointed to oversee the public relations program.
  • Set up the concept and program for their CRM program and extended this to a multi-purpose loyalty and reward program.
  • Set the strategic direction and marketing traffic driving tools for the new STC website/business.

Strategic Brand Launch to Australian & International Markets

  • Integral to the successful strategic launch of Teletubbies for the BBC, a major thrust of this being the development of a set of the Teletubbies' environment that travelled around Australian shopping centres.
  • Integral in driving the international market strategy and promotion for the distribution of the licensed product range of Bananas in Pyjamas - now in 80 countries.
  • Developed the strategy for the Australian market launch of the Patina Mannequin range for major retailers and negotiated and established the strategic alliance with an Australian distributor.

Integrated Communications Strategies & PR

  • Created a successful twelve-month marketing strategy of direct mail, public relations concepts and a customer relationship program for a Mosman shopping centre that was 'under construction'. The centre had been previously rejected by all national brands for tenancy. The program directly resulted in the centre opening with full tenancies and featuring 7 well known, high profile, national chain tenancies.
  • Developed the strategic approach and marketing concepts for Bras 'N' Things as well as IM Designer Bodywear that was instrumental in moving Australian women's spending patterns from 'underwear' to more expensive 'lingerie'. The key driving tools were massive public relations activities across all mediums over a 14-month period coupled with a direct marketing campaign and the development of a customer loyalty and relationship program.
  • Successful in obtaining more than $1 million dollars worth of 'free' press, newspapers, glossy magazines and television for a new range of suits selling at over $1000 for John Serafino imports.

ACHIEVEMENTS: WRITER & INDUSTRY SPOKESPERSON

  • Author of 20 Low Cost Retail Marketing Strategies to Increase the Turnover of any Retail Business by $10,000 - $100,000, the No. 1 selling retail marketing guide in Australia. Published in 1998 it is a 'how-to', practical, hands-on marketing manual teaching retailers promotional concepts with particular emphasis on building 1:1 customer relationships. Consequently Toni was approached to write the marketing plan and the marketing manual for each outlet of a major national franchise chain with 140 stores.
  • Appointed the Australian representative of the educational publications of the International Council of Shopping Centres based in New York.
  • Regular writer for retail marketing and internet magazines: Retail News Magazine, BRW, Instore Magazine, The Retailer's Digest, Australasian Optics, Queensland Newsagent Magazine, Stationery News, Franchise Magazine, Supermarket Plus News, Internet.au and Australian NetGuide magazine (to name a few).
  • Professional speaker: keynote speeches and seminars presented to the Australian Jewellers Association, the National Nursery Association, the Government's Mainstreet Revitalisation Program participants, Lend Lease Shopping Centre and Schroeder Shopping Centre Groups, as well as many franchise group chains and the National Australian Retailers Association Conference 2000.
  • Is a formal subscriber to the range of B2C and retail online research and trend forecasting produced by Jupiter Communications and Media Metrix. Toni is one of the very few who is not a multi national company, to hold such a subscription (due to the high cost)
